As we continue to unpack from our trip to GIE+EXPO (now Equip Exposition) in Louisville, Kentucky, we’re still talking about all the innovative new products we saw and sifting through comments about our own sneak previews. At GIE, we showcased three new zero-turn mowers slated for release in 2022 – the Surfer Pro, Super SF, AND the all-electric Zevo residential mower. We also unveiled a reboot of our commercial stand-on model, the FasTrak.
In a series we’ve titled, “Deep Dive Mower Series, New in ’22,” we’re introducing each product over the next few weeks and talking about them in detail. Last week, we chatted about the latest in our stand-on family, the Surfer Pro. Today we’re charged up to tell you about the Zevo all electric residential zero-turn mower.
The Hustler Zevo electric mower was built for the homeowner who wants to reduce the carbon footprint in their own neighborhood and eliminate the mess of handling gas and oil, but still own a reliable comfortable machine with clean lines, and a compact design. Using a 48-volt AGM battery system, the Zevo has a run time of up to 3.6 acres (up to 90 minutes) on a 6-hour charge. No need for a special plug-in. The Zevo charger can be plugged into any standard outlet. Like all Hustler mowers, Zevo is built using a fabricated steel deck and includes our signature BigBite™ rear tires.
Get on and go! If you’ve ever driven a golf cart, you’ll find the Zevo is just as user-friendly. Plus, we’ve incorporated a steering mechanism with easy shifting and variable speeds (up to 7 mph in high/up to 5 mph in low). Perfect for learning, trimming, and training modes.
Zevo has environmental benefits but also creature comforts including a premium seat with lumbar support, unbeatable suspension, and SmoothTrak steering for easy maneuvering. With a 42” deck, Zevo is compact enough to store in a basic outdoor shed or take up minimal space in the garage. And because we know our mower owners want to be able to get “under the hood,” the Zevo comes standard with easily accessible compartments for basic maintenance.
At our booth at GIE, the Zevo was well-received by visitors who remembered our first foray into the electric mower space in 2010, and appreciated the fact that once again, we’re focusing on green, environmentally friendly alternatives.
